PhilomobileBy Laurence Bouchet← HomeABOUT ME
My name is Laurence Bouchet. After 25 years teaching philosophy, one conviction became clear to me: it cannot stay confined to a classroom.

Since 2013, I’ve chosen to practise philosophy out in the community.
I run workshops in a wide range of settings: schools, secondary schools, prisons, libraries, businesses and public spaces. In businesses, these workshops help develop critical thinking, creativity and the quality of dialogue.
I also offer individual philosophical consultations to clarify an existential question, gain perspective on a decision, or examine what keeps us stuck in a difficulty.
A PRACTICE
I trained in philosophical practice with the philosopher Oscar Brenifier: a demanding approach, at times harsh, but deeply fruitful. Today I work alongside other practitioners trained in this same method, including Aurélien Vetu, a practical philosopher in Colombia, and Wei Peng, a practical philosopher in China.

THE PHILOMOBILE
I created the Philomobile, a van converted into a space for dialogue, to practise philosophy in public spaces with anyone willing to take part.
With a team, we drove across France all the way to Morocco, meeting high school students, university students, associations and passers-by along the way.
